The barn door has become one of the most sought-after elements in contemporary interior design. Its sliding mechanism saves space, creates visual drama, and offers a relaxed, architectural gesture that swinging doors simply cannot achieve. But the traditional barn door — with its rustic hardware, exposed rail, and farmhouse aesthetic — doesn’t belong in every home. For clients who love the principle of a sliding door but demand the refinement of high-end Italian design, TrediPorte created Glisso: a complete family of modern barn door systems that reimagines the concept from the ground up.
At Tredi Interiors, the exclusive USA agent for TrediPorte, we bring the full Glisso collection to architects, designers, and homeowners across the United States. Available in our Northern California and Southern California showrooms, Glisso represents the next evolution of the modern barn door — 100% designed and manufactured in Italy.
What Makes a Modern Barn Door Different?
A modern barn door operates on the same fundamental principle as a traditional one: a door panel slides along a wall-mounted track rather than swinging on hinges. This eliminates the arc of a swinging door, freeing valuable floor and wall space. It is an ideal solution for tight floor plans, open-concept living, walk-in closets, ensuite bathrooms, and any room where a conventional door creates obstruction.
Where a modern barn door departs from its rustic predecessor is in the execution. The hardware is sleeker, the panels are more refined, and the overall effect is architectural rather than decorative. TrediPorte takes this evolution further than any other manufacturer by offering multiple Glisso systems — each engineered to achieve a different level of visual integration, from elegantly visible to completely invisible.
Modern Barn Door: The Glisso Magic System by Tredi Porte

Why Glisso Magic Changes the Game
Traditional barn doors, even modern ones, have always required a visible track. Designers accepted this as a necessary trade-off — you gained the space-saving benefit of a slider, but you also added a horizontal hardware element that interrupted the wall surface. For minimalist interiors, this was always a concession.
Glisso Magic eliminates that concession entirely. The invisible mechanism means that architects and interior designers can now specify a surface-mounted sliding door in spaces where a visible track would have been unacceptable: in gallery-like living rooms, luxury master suites, high-end hotel corridors, and pristine minimalist environments where every detail is curated to the millimeter.
Because the system is surface-mounted, it does not require the structural modification of building a pocket within the wall. This makes Glisso Magic particularly valuable in renovation projects — existing walls remain intact while the door system installs cleanly against the surface.

Who Is Glisso Magic For?
Glisso Magic is designed for clients and professionals who refuse to compromise. It appeals to architects working on high-end residential projects where clean sight lines are paramount, to interior designers creating boutique hospitality spaces where every surface must be flawless, and to homeowners who appreciate the barn door concept but have always been put off by the industrial look of exposed hardware.
Combined with TrediPorte’s Actuality Laminate collection — offering finishes from warm walnut and textured Sherwood oak to sleek anthracite and soft matte tones — every Glisso Magic installation can be tailored to the specific material palette of the project.
