Modern Italian Pocket Doors
The Glisso In System by Tredi Porte
When it comes to redefining the way space flows inside a home, nothing speaks more eloquently than a modern Italian pocket door. Elegant, minimal, and engineered with extraordinary precision, pocket doors have become one of the most sought-after architectural elements in contemporary interior design — and no manufacturer has mastered this art quite like Tredi Porte with their Glisso In system.
What Is a Pocket Door — and Why Does It Matter?
A pocket door, known in French as a porte à galandage, is a sliding door that disappears completely into the wall cavity when open. Unlike a traditional hinged door that swings into a room and occupies floor space, or a barn-style door that slides along the wall surface, a pocket door vanishes entirely — leaving the wall clean, the space open, and the architecture uninterrupted.
In modern and minimalist interiors, this distinction is everything. Every square foot matters. Every visual line counts. The pocket door doesn’t just solve a spatial problem — it elevates the entire architectural language of a room.
Glisso In: Where Italian Design Meets Precision Engineering
The Glisso In doors by Tredi Porte combine aesthetics and functionality, disappearing completely into the partition wall to optimize space and create more fluid, harmonious environments. Perfect for modern and minimalist interiors, they eliminate the bulk of traditional door panels, offering a clean and essential design.
This is not simply a hardware solution — it is a complete architectural system. Available in a wide range of finishes, Glisso In doors adapt with flexibility to every style, guaranteeing both practicality and elegance. Whether your interior calls for a matte white lacquer, a rich natural wood veneer, or a bold contemporary laminate, the Glisso In system is designed to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding architecture rather than interrupt it.

Construction Quality: Built the Italian Way
The structural integrity of a Tredi Porte door begins at its core. The honeycomb cellulose sheet makes the door exceptionally strong thanks to its honeycomb structure — composed of laminated layers of paper or cardboard, this light and robust structure represents an excellent solution. For projects requiring greater mass and rigidity, the door is also available with a tubular particleboard core, delivering the substantial feel that high-end residential and commercial applications demand.
The door leaf itself is engineered to a 44mm thickness — a premium specification that signals a higher grade of construction compared to standard residential doors. Face panels in 3mm MDF, clad in laminate, veneer, or lacquer, are applied to a peripheral hardwood frame that includes a reinforced lock block zone, ensuring hardware longevity and structural reliability at the point of greatest mechanical stress.
Edge banding is matched to the door finish — a quality detail that ensures the door reads as a single, cohesive object from every angle, not an assembled component.
The Complete Glisso In System
What distinguishes the Glisso In from generic pocket door solutions on the market is that it is engineered as a total system — not just a door panel dropped into a rough frame. The system includes:
- Pocket sliding mechanism with smooth, silent operation
- Stop post / astragal for a precise, clean door closure
- Brush seal rail at the head, controlling dust, light, and acoustics
- Cover molding / joint cover strip that conceals the junction between frame and wall finish, typically executed with an Italian shadow gap or reveal detail rather than a traditional casing
- Finish-matched trim throughout — jamb, casing, and cover plates all coordinated to the selected door finish
The adjustable frame boasts an innovative design — it adjusts quickly during installation, offering a unique, durable and aesthetically-pleasing solution, available in Classic and Prestige versions.
Hardware options for the Glisso In are specified separately and include a flush pull cup handle with satin chrome pull sleeve — the recessed pull being essential in a pocket door application where a projecting lever handle would prevent the door from sliding cleanly into the wall. Lock options range from a no-lock passage configuration, to a privacy turn-and-release for bathrooms and bedrooms, to a keyed lock for secure rooms.
Why Modern Italian Pocket Doors Belong in Your Project
Sliding doors introduce a sense of innovation to a room, offering a practical solution to maximize efficiency of space. Featuring a smooth and silent sliding mechanism, these doors not only visually transcend the interior, but also offer a unique user experience.
Available in luxurious finishes — natural wood, Italian lacquer, premium laminates, aluminum frames, or glass — Tredi Porte delivers the clean, contemporary look that defines modern Italian interiors. The Glisso In is not a compromise between design and function. It is the proof that the two are inseparable.
For architects, designers, and homeowners who refuse to settle for ordinary, the Glisso In system by Tredi Porte represents the highest standard in modern Italian pocket doors — where every millimeter is considered, every finish is deliberate, and every opening tells a story of Italian craftsmanship at its finest.
