Featuring the Idea Group My Time Collection · by Tredi Interiors
Rancho Mirage has long stood among the most prestigious addresses in the California desert. A community defined by mid-century glamour, gated luxury, and a deep appreciation for refined modern design, it is the natural home for interiors that balance sophistication with effortless desert living. It is here, just minutes from our own Rancho Mirage showroom, that Tredi Interiors completed a striking bathroom remodeling with modern floating vanities — a transformation anchored by the elegant Idea Group My Time collection.
The result is a bathroom that feels less like a utility space and more like a private spa: serene, luminous, and impeccably composed. For homeowners who are deeply sensitive to design and committed to authentic Italian craftsmanship, this project demonstrates how a single, well-chosen element — a modern floating vanity — can redefine an entire room.
Why a Floating Vanity Transforms a Bathroom
Before exploring the project itself, it is worth understanding why the floating vanity has become the signature of contemporary bathroom design — and why it was the right choice for this Rancho Mirage home.
A floating, or wall-mounted, vanity does something no floor-standing cabinet can: it lifts the visual weight of the room. By raising the vanity off the floor and revealing the surface beneath, the design opens up the space, making even a generously sized bathroom feel lighter, airier, and more expansive. The eye travels uninterrupted across the floor, and the room takes on a calm, gallery-like quality that is the very essence of modern Italian design.
The benefits are practical as well as aesthetic. A floating vanity is far easier to clean beneath, eliminating the dust traps of traditional cabinetry. It allows for flexible mounting heights tailored to the homeowner. And it lends the bathroom a contemporary, architectural lightness that feels entirely in keeping with the clean lines of desert modern living. In Rancho Mirage, where indoor-outdoor flow and abundant natural light are central to the lifestyle, the floating vanity is a perfect fit.
The Centerpiece: Idea Group My Time
At the heart of this remodel is the Idea Group My Time collection — one of the most versatile and refined systems in contemporary Italian bathroom design. Idea Group, a celebrated Italian manufacturer, is renowned for marrying minimalist elegance with durable, high-end materials, and the My Time line embodies that philosophy beautifully.
My Time is built around a simple idea: that a bathroom should adapt to the person who uses it. The collection offers extensive flexibility in configuration, proportion, and finish, allowing each vanity to be tailored precisely to the homeowner’s needs and the architecture of the room. Clean profiles, generous and intelligently organized storage, and a warm, sophisticated material palette make it ideal for a primary bathroom that must be as practical as it is beautiful.
In this Rancho Mirage home, the My Time vanity becomes the sculptural focal point of the bathroom — a sleek, wall-mounted composition that anchors the space and sets its serene, contemporary tone. Its considered proportions and refined surfaces deliver an immediate sense of luxury, while its thoughtful storage keeps the room uncluttered and calm. This is the hallmark of My Time: a vanity that is at once a statement piece and a quietly functional workhorse.
A Design Rooted in the Desert
What distinguishes this project is how naturally the Italian design language complements its desert setting. Rancho Mirage homes are often defined by mid-century modern architecture, walls of glass, and a seamless connection between interior and landscape — qualities that call for interiors that feel open, light, and uncluttered.
The My Time floating vanity answers that call perfectly. Its clean lines echo the architectural clarity of the desert modern home, while its warm tones reflect the organic palette of the surrounding landscape. The wall-mounted design amplifies the brilliant desert light, and the uncluttered composition keeps the bathroom feeling spacious and tranquil. Tredi Interiors designed the room to harness that light by day and to glow softly by night, with carefully integrated lighting that highlights the vanity’s floating profile and creates a restful, spa-like atmosphere after dark.
The material choices throughout were made with the desert in mind — surfaces that feel cool and serene against the warmth of the climate, and a palette that brings the calm of the landscape indoors. The result is a bathroom that feels unmistakably of its place: cosmopolitan in its Italian sophistication, yet rooted in the relaxed elegance of Rancho Mirage.
The Remodeling Journey
The transformation began, as all of our projects do, with a thorough understanding of the homeowners. Tredi Interiors met with them to learn how they use the space, what they hoped to achieve, and how they wanted the room to feel. That insight guided every subsequent decision — from the layout and the choice of the My Time collection to the selection of finishes, fixtures, and lighting.
From there, the design took shape. The goal was a seamless flow throughout the bathroom, with the floating vanity positioned as the anchoring focal point and the layout arranged to maximize both natural light and ease of use. Mirrors, lighting, and fixtures were all chosen to reinforce the sense of openness and serenity. Once the design was finalized, our role as a direct importer ensured a smooth path from concept to completion: the Idea Group vanity was produced in Italy, imported, and installed with the precision required to achieve a flawless, truly floating result.
The wall-mounted installation, in particular, demanded expertise. Mounting a vanity to appear weightless while supporting daily use requires careful structural and plumbing coordination — exactly the kind of meticulous execution that distinguishes a professional Italian bathroom remodel from an ordinary one.
Innovation, Storage, and Everyday Function
A beautiful bathroom must also work beautifully, and this remodel was engineered for genuine daily comfort. The My Time collection’s intelligent storage solutions keep essentials organized and out of sight, preserving the clean, uncluttered surfaces the design depends upon. Soft-closing drawers, considered internal organization, and generous capacity ensure the room remains serene no matter how busy daily life becomes.
Sustainability and efficiency were woven in as well. Water-conscious fixtures — a meaningful consideration in a desert climate — and energy-efficient lighting enhance both the bathroom’s performance and its environmental responsibility. And because Idea Group cabinetry is built to last for decades rather than replaced within a few years, the remodel represents a sustainable, lasting investment that reduces the home’s long-term footprint.
Uncompromising Quality, Made in Italy
Idea Group is among Italy’s most respected manufacturers of contemporary bathroom furniture, and every element of this floating vanity is genuinely Made in Italy — engineered to exacting standards and finished with materials selected for both beauty and longevity. In a high-moisture environment, the quality of construction is paramount, and Italian engineering ensures these vanities resist humidity and wear while maintaining their day-one elegance for decades.
For homeowners committed to imported, high-end Italian design, this distinction matters. It is the difference between a bathroom that ages gracefully and one that simply ages. As a specialized design studio and direct importer, Tredi Interiors manages every stage of the process to honor the integrity of these materials, ensuring the finished bathroom reflects the true caliber of Italian craftsmanship.
Where Aesthetics Meet Functionality
A hallmark of Tredi Interiors’ work is the seamless marriage of beauty and practicality, and this Rancho Mirage bathroom is a defining example. The floating My Time vanity is as functional as it is striking, offering ample, well-organized storage while delivering a sense of calm luxury every time one enters the room. The layout supports an effortless daily routine, the wall-mounted design simplifies maintenance, and the overall composition turns an everyday space into a genuine retreat.
This is the essence of modern Italian bathroom design done right: a room that looks extraordinary, functions flawlessly, and elevates the experience of daily life.
